A new mod for Half-Life 2 has just come out which essentially reverses the entire game, making the experience pretty surreal. The title has been out since 2004 and although a third game in the series is likely not going to happen, the 18 years that have elapsed since the second installment was released means that many fans probably know every aspect of the sequel in great detail. Given this, players have likely formed habits forged over many years, but things are about to get topsy-turvy.
There are already some pretty incredible Half-Life 2 mods out there, some of which practically turn it into a different game entirely. One such example converts the Valve title into GoldenEye, while another gives players the opportunity to play through the levels taken from the beta version of the sequel. The vanilla experience alone is already enough for many, with the game going down as one of the best first-person shooters ever, but the modding community is awash with many talented teams and individuals who are hell-bent on switching things up or adding custom content. However, none are quite as headache-inducing as this one.
