Marvel’s Midnight Suns delayed again – may not be out this year

The new superhero filled strategy game from XCOM developer Firaxis no longer has any release date, as it misses its October launch.

Although it was supposed to be out this October, we still know relatively little about Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the supernatural themed superhero strategy game from the makers of Civilization and XCOM.

The most we’ve heard over the years is a constant stream of delays, with the latest one leaving the game without any release date and no guarantee it’ll even be out this year.

Although publisher 2K is being purposefully vague there’s very little chance the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Nintendo Switch versions will be out until next year, as their release date is now classified as TBA. There’s still a chance for the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC but officially it’ll only be released at some point before the end of 2K’s current financial year in April.

The game was originally supposed to be out this March, before being delayed until November. Rather than that being simply because it wasn’t finished, this was stated to be so developer Firaxis could add ‘more story, cinematics, and overall polish.’

They’re being a bit vaguer this time, saying only that they want to ‘deliver the best possible experience for everyone.’

‘We know fans are looking forward to playing Marvel’s Midnight Suns and we will use this extra time to make sure we are delivering the best possible experience for everyone,’ they added.

‘Marvel’s Midnight Suns is easily the biggest game we’ve ever made and we’re incredibly appreciative of all the support players have shared with us throughout the years.’

Although initially implied to be merely XCOM with superheroes, Midnight Suns appears to be a significantly different experience,
