Disney is majorly shaking up the release dates for many Marvel movies. Blade, Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four, and other projects have all been further delayed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Now, Blade is expected out on September 6, 2024--which in turn has shaken up the rest of the MCU. Deadpool 3 has been moved from September 6, 2024 to November 8 2024; Fantastic Four has shifted from November 8, 2024 to February 14, 2025; an untitled Marvel film has been pushed from Feb. 14, 2025 to Nov. 7, 2025; “Avengers: Secret Wars” has been delayed from Nov. 7, 2025 to May 1, 2026; and another untitled Marvel film set for May 1, 2026 has been removed from Disney’s calendar.
The news seems to confirm a rumor that was starting to circulate this morning about Blade, which has been shut down for now as of a few hours ago on Tuesday morning. Marvel was reportedly hoping to get the film back on track for a January 2023 production start date after director Bassim Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) exited the project in September--but The Hollywood Reporter in another story also speculated that Marvel was unlikely to meet its expected November 3, 2023 release date.
MCU Phase 4 will still continue as previously planned and expected, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hitting theaters on November 11--a month from today. Earlier Tuesday, Marvel also released a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever featurettewith new footage and interviews with the cast including Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong'o, and one of the newest characters to the MCU: Tenoch Huerta, who plays Namor, the underwater ruler of Talocan.
