Emoji say so much by saying so little; you can read a lot into those small symbols. That's why The Facemoji Keyboard has taken stock of where we stand through our use of emoji in social media and messaging in its State of Emoji Report 2022(Opens in a new window), which uses data from its global users.
Though the heart (❤️) is the fourth most popular emoji overall, it's conspicuously absent from some apps—perhaps surprisingly, dating apps. Bumble, Hinge, and Tinder users steer clear of such a strong commitment, though the heart is one of the top five for Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, and WhatsApp.
