Atlus' Persona franchise was once niche, but it has since become a mainstream hit, largely thanks to the success of Persona 5. Despite Persona 5's widespread popularity, Atlus has been slow to capitalize on the newfound interest in the series, with many older titles remaining hard to get on outdated hardware. However, a new rumor claims that the acclaimed Persona 4 Golden may finally be making its way to more platforms.
Leaker Zippo, who has accurately leaked industry news in the past but does not have a perfect track record, has claimed that the console ports for Persona 4 Golden are «apparently complete and ready to go.» Zippo believes that the Persona 4 Golden console ports will be released for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, with no mention of a possible Xbox version. Zippo is unsure how much the ports will cost, but speculates that it may be a bit more expensive than the PC port since it will presumably be getting a physical release.

For the uninitiated, Persona 4 originally released on PlayStation 2 and earned widespread critical acclaim at the time of its release. Atlus later released an enhanced version for the PlayStation Vita called Persona 4 Golden, which added new content and made various improvements. Persona 4 Golden remained trapped on the PS Vita until June 2020, at which point Atlus finally released a Persona 4 Golden PC port.
The success of the Persona 4 Golden PC port led many to assume that the game would be coming to other platforms as well, but two years later and no such ports have been announced.
