Lady Gaga reveals the hilarious reactions her family had upon telling them about the cast of House of Gucci. Directed by Ridley Scott, House of Gucci chronicles the ill-fated marriage of Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga) and Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), who find themselves battling for control of the Gucci fashion brand. Coming hot on the heels of Scott's previous 2021 movie, The Last Duel, House of Gucci performed adequately at the box office but divided audiences and critics, with many praising the film's performances while criticizing its inconsistent tone.
Scott acquired the movie rights to House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden in the early 2000s, but it wasn't until 2019 that the film actually came together. Gaga was the first star to join the project, with most of the other cast members coming soon after. In addition to Gaga and Driver, the film stars Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto, and Salma Hayek. Gaga may have risen to fame because of her music career, but she has since become an Oscar-nominated actor, having appeared alongside Bradley Cooper in 2018's A Star Is Born in addition to roles in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For and American Horror Story.
