Kristin Cavallari Admits Her Marriage To Jay Cutler Was ‘Toxic’
Kristin Cavallari of Very Cavallari recently opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband Jay Cutler and The Hills alum revealed that her marriage was “toxic.” Kristin is no stranger to the reality television world and appeared in Laguna Beach when she was just 17 years old. She and her former castmate, Lauren Conrad, famously feuded for years over Kristin’s boyfriend Stephen Colletti. Lauren went on to star in The Hills, with Kristin taking over when the fashion designer quit to move on to bigger things.
Fans saw Kristin on the small screen again when she starred in Very Cavallari in 2018. The reality series followed Kristin’s life with Jay and their three children, who were not filmed for the show. Very Cavallari’s initial main focus was on Kristin running her jewelry line, Uncommon James. However, fans loved seeing Kristin and Jay’s dynamic, and the show slowly shifted to capturing their relationship.

In April 2020, Kristin announced that after 10 years together, she and Jay made the decision to split. In a recent podcast episode of Call Her Daddy, Kristin opened up about her marriage and shared, “It was toxic. Period, end of story. That’s all I need to say.” She revealed that it took her a few years to make the decision and that it was “really scary” but she didn’t want to make an “impulsive decision.” The reality star admitted to feeling “really unhappy'' and shared, “I was in an unhealthy relationship and so that to me is not worth it.” Kristin’s motivation was also due to not wanting her children to think her and Jay’s relationship was “normal,” and wanted them to see her happy.
