Bandai Namco has announced that Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will launch on July 8 globally for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. This will happen alongside the previously announced Nintendo Switch launch.
This series collection, will launches a day earlier on July 7 in Japan, includes remastered versions of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. Unfortunately, it looks like North American customers won't be able to purchase a physical copy of the game. However, boxed copies are available in other territories including Europe and Japan.
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile was released in 1997 for the original PlayStation and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2. Door to Phantomile received a remake simply titled "Klonoa" on the Nintendo Wii with fully 3D graphics back in 2008. This is the version of Door to Phantomile that's included in this upcoming compilation.
In IGN's Klonoa review, we said, "Klonoa is a remake of the original, and it follows the template brick for brick, but for newcomers to the series it’s a must-play entry into the world of platformers. For returning fans, there’s still a nice bit of nostalgia to it all as well."
