The former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian is opening up about why she decided to leave her estranged husband, Kanye West. Between 2020 and 2021, Kim and Kanye were in the media circuit quite a bit for the ups and downs they were experiencing in their relationship. The downfall of their marriage truly began during the summer of 2020, when Kanye did several presidential campaigns in hopes of becoming the next President of the United States.
While doing his campaigns, Kanye revealed some personal family information, both online and during his rallies. One of the most controversial bits of information he exposed was that he initially wanted Kim to have an abortion when he found she was pregnant with their first child, North. Kim and Kanye attempted to work on their relationship; however, nothing was working for them. Kim finally filed for divorce in February 2021.

In Kim's exclusive interview with Vogue Magazine, in which she is on the cover, the reality star revealed she had to end her marriage to Kayne when she decided to put her happiness before others. "For so long, I did what made other people happy," Kim told the famous fashion publication for her March 2022 cover story. "I think in the last two years I decided I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good." Kim added that even if these changes caused her divorce, she thinks "it’s important, to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy."
