Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada has introduced new footage from the upcoming Netflix anime series Tekken: Bloodline.
In a video segment that played during the Netflix Geeked event, Harada showed off new clips from the show, which is planned for release later this year.
“Parts of the original story that have only been written in words will be shown, like the kind of life that Jin Kazama had with this mother, Jun, on Yakushima and what kind of conversations they had,” Harada says. “Those are really my favourite scenes.”
“If Jin Kazama were a real person, the one thing I would say to him is, ‘I’m sorry for always putting you through so many awful things’.
The footage can be seen below:
“The Tekken series has continued for a long time, but actually, in the entire time video games have been made, Tekken has had the longest-running video game storyline,” Harada added.
“That’s how grand this story is, and now it’s being adapted as an anime series for the first time.”
Netflix showed the first teaser trailer for Tekken: Bloodline in March.
Netflix’s description of the series reads: “Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever.
“Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage – the King of Iron Fist Tournament.”
