The Pokémon Company has seemingly removed at least five unannounced Pokémon from the Japanese version of the latest Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer.
After a new trailer for the upcoming Switch RPGs was released on Thursday, fans were quick to notice that it included a number of Pokémon that have yet to be announced.
Later, when a Japanese version of the trailer was released, these Pokémon were missing. The video also featured an improved frame rate and lighting effects, suggesting it could be a more recent build of the game.
Highlighted on Twitter by @Pory_leeks, the western trailer includes two unannounced Pokémon not included in the Japanese one, which appear in blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos.
The first can be spotted behind some menu options in the game’s photo mode. The second is in the background of one of the raid battles.

Three more creatures were spotted in the game’s mini-map, including a mouse Pokémon, a parrot Pokémon and what appears to be a Pokémon made of salt.

As spotted by AustinJohnPlays on Twitter, none of the unannounced Pokémon appears in the Japanese version of the trailer. It’s also been pointed out that the Japanese version of the trailer seems to have better lighting effects and run at a better frame rate, most notably when the Pokémon Sunflora is running towards the screen.
