Last week, Intel admitted its upcoming Arc graphics cards can suffer a performance drag when it comes to older PC games. But now the company is showing off how the Arc A750 GPU can shine while running the latest PC titles.
The company released a video(Opens in a new window) with benchmarks comparing the A750 against Nvidia's RTX 3060 graphics card across nearly 50 titles, including Call of Duty: Warzone, Cyberpunk 2077, and Microsoft Flight Simulator.
All the PC titles used DirectX 12 or the Vulkan API, and the test compared the GPUs' performance using frames per second. The results show the A750 trading blows with the RTX 3060 when it comes to 1080p gaming at ultra settings.
As you can see, the A750 excels in some games while the RTX 3060 performs better in others. However, Intel’s graphic card showed a bigger advantage at 1440p gaming.
In a majority of the tested games, the Arc A750 comes out on top over the RTX 3060. "On average, if you’re looking at the mean across all these things, we’re winning by between 3 and 5%," Intel graphics fellow Tom Petersen says in the video.
Intel also published an article(Opens in a new window) that contains the average FPS Intel achieved on the various games. So interested buyers can see whether the Arc A750 achieves desired performance.
Ultimately, Intel’s video tries to demonstrate how Arc GPUs are a competitive alternative to rival products from Nvidia and AMD. The problem is that the company still hasn’t given us a price or launch date for the A750 graphics card, which will also determine if the hardware is worth buying. For now, Intel has only said the desktop Arc GPUs will arrive sometime this quarter.
In the meantime, gamers can easily purchase an RTX 3060, which has
