While streaming Call of Duty Warzone earlier today, Head of Blizzard Mike Ybarra (aka Qwik) answered a handful of viewer questions and showed off some of his gaming collectables — joking that he has more statues in his office than mounts in World of Warcraft. In particular, the lifelong gamer extolled his love for Halo and Destiny, evidenced by the replica Thorn hand cannon proudly on display alongside Doomfist, the Helm of Domination, and Reaper, as well as an Uldren Sov (aka the Crow) figurine featured adjacent to Widowmaker, the Lich King, Thrall, and Lilith.
Qwik was a Hunter main back when he used to play Destiny 24/7 («way too much!»), though he continues to rock the emblem hoodie. Although adamant that he was not able to talk about the Activision-Microsoft deal right now, Ybarra was nice enough to answer a handful of other questions, acknowledging that while some players may simply be waiting for Patch 9.2, he still has plenty left to do in the game — such as collecting transmog and leveling his Rogue alt — although he will probably continue to main Warrior and try to start tanking Mythic+, since he normally plays DPS.
Although the avid Mythic+ runner has been on the PTR, he's abstained from doing keys due to his UI not being set up. Ybarra also stated that he would not be presenting the next WoW expansion when the time comes, but that someone from the Warcraft team would instead — this roughly tracks with past announcements, as game directors or executive producers generally have the pleasure of announcing new projects at BlizzCon or other major events.
