Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was well received by fans and critics when it launched last October. However, perhaps due to updates being sparse - with voice acting still not in the game just yet - it failed to have the staying power many had hoped for. As we've reported previously, its Twitch figures leave a lot to be desired, which isn't a great start for a fighting game. However, the publisher isn't giving up on it just yet.
Genesis, a huge, grassroots Smash Bros. tournament that's been running since 2008, is partnering with Nick Brawl's publisher, GameMill Entertainment. This will see the Nickelodeon fighting game feature alongside Smash Bros. at tournaments, exposing more players to the ambitious platform fighter.

The announcement was made on Twitter yesterday, and appears to have fans of Nick Brawl feeling optimistic about its future. In a follow-up tweet, Genesis explained what the partnership will mean for the game, and it's a pretty sweet deal from what we can see so far.
The partnership will give the competitive Nick Brawl community much of what it needs to get the scene off the ground. This includes 20 PCs at its tournament that are running the game, and brackets open to anyone who wants to try it out. In a separate tweet, Genesis also confirms that there will be a $5,000 prize pool in the upcoming Nick Brawl singles tournament. It might not be the big bucks that other titles pull in, but it's definitely a good start - especially for a licensed game.
The next Genesis tournament is set to take place next month, so it won't be long until we see some competitive Nick Brawl in action.
As for casual players, you won't be forgotten
