Instagram has released a new feature that will allow users to like stories on the platform without sending direct messages to the author. In 2022, the Meta-owned photos and videos sharing social platform have introduced many new features to give users more control over the application. For instance, Instagram recently announced the 'Take a Break' feature wherein the app encourages users to take a break after a certain amount of time spent on the app.
Earlier this month, Instagram introduced 3D Avatars to Stories and DMs. The platform believes that 3D Avatars "are a key building block of the future of personal identity in the metaverse." Although the feature is currently only available in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, it will soon be coming to more regions. In a nutshell, the feature will allow Instagram users to use their 3D Avatars while publishing stories and sending messages to other users.
