Guerrilla Games has released a new update for Horizon Forbidden West in the form of patch 1.06, which addresses a selection of community-reported issues.
Sharing the patch notes to the game's subreddit, Guerrilla thanked players for their patience while the team worked on the issues that have been present since the game launched. It also confirmed that although several problems have been fixed, it's still working on others and asks fans to continue to leave feedback.

Guerrilla began by talking about the known issues, stating that the team is continuing to look into a number of graphical issues that were causing shimmering, sharpening, and screen saturation when moving the camera. Players have also reported an issue in side quest Breaking Even where they are not able to talk to an NPC, thus blocking quest progression, as well as reports of a particular music track playing on repeat, among other bugs.
As for improvements, the developer has managed to implement fixes for a large number of main and side quests, including several issues with the Reach for the Stars. For example, one where Varl could become stuck swimming, which resulted in a missing prompt, causing the player to be blocked from progressing.
