Many open-world games utilize some sort of fast travel feature so that players can quickly get to previously explored areas without trudging all the way back and wasting precious time. Luckily, there is fast travel in Horizon Forbidden West, just like its predecessor, and this guide will go over when it unlocks and how players can use it.
Horizon Forbidden West players will need to make it through the game's opening missions before getting access to fast travel. This means players need to get to the point when they start the main story mission called «To The Brink,» which starts once Aloy makes her way to the west on her machine mount. Once the opening credits end, players will meet Karhn, who will begrudgingly escort Aloy down the cable car into the machine-infested area. While riding down, players will receive two Fast Travel Packs.

Players can use these packs to fast travel and then choose a campfire or settlement on the map. Of course, players will only be able to travel to places they've previously visited. To craft an extra Fast Travel Pack, Aloy will need to collect 10 Ridge-Wood and 3 Wild Meat. However, this isn't the only way to fast travel.
Once players get off the cable car, they'll be able to interact with the first Campfire in the game. Not only are Campfires used to quick and manual save, but players can also utilize them to fast travel to another Campfire for free without the use of a Fast Travel Pack.
