Today marks one week before Horizon Forbidden West arrives on PlayStation, and what better way to celebrate than to release the game’s official cinematic trailer? Sony has gotten quite good at showcasing their first-party titles, and Horizon Forbidden West is no exception.
The one-minute trailer shows Aloy as her most dynamic self, climbing, swimming, and leaping from the backs of robotic creatures to hurl explosive spears and save friendly tribespeople. Aloy’s new movement abilities are on full display, and even though this is just a cinematic trailer, we’re told that Aloy will be just as mobile in the actual game.

One thing really stands out from the trailer, however. At the end, Aloy seems to arrive at a cliff in the Forbidden West while being approached by what appears to be a tamed robot pteranodon. She even reaches out to it right before the trailer ends. This might be our confirmation of flying mounts in the Forbidden West.
Along with the trailer, Guerrilla Games had some big numbers to prove just how big the Horizon franchise is getting. "We are happy to share that as of November 28, 2021, Horizon Zero Dawn has sold through more than 20 million units worldwide across PlayStation 4 and PC combined," Guerrilla wrote on the PlayStation Blog, "and the community has spent more than 1 billion hours in the game!"
Guerilla also recently shared information on Horizon Forbidden West's accessibility options, which were made with the goal of appealing "to as many fans as possible."
