Universal Studios Hollywood’s Super Nintendo World will officially open on February 17, 2023, the park has announced.
When it opens, America’s first Nintendo World will house an augmented reality Mario Kart ride set within Bowser’s Castle, a Toadstool Café and a 1-Up Factory merchandise store.
In addition, visitors will be able to purchase Power-Up Bands to play interactive games around the park and track their scores via the Universal Studios app.
Unlike the Japanese version of Nintendo World, which opened early last year, the Hollywood park will not feature the Yoshi’s Adventure ride.
The Hollywood park started selling Super Nintendo World merchandise earlier this year ahead of its opening, marking the first time theme park-related items have been available outside of Japan.
Singapore and Florida Super Nintendo Worlds are also scheduled to be built in the future.
Last year, Nintendo officially confirmed a Donkey Kong expansion for Japan’s Super Nintendo World.
While the Super Mario area contains relatively gentle rides suitable for all ages, the Donkey Kong area will include a rollercoaster.
Like the Mario area, it will also feature interactive elements and themed merchandise and food.
