The developer behind Hogwarts Legacy, Avalanche Software, noted last week how the game will have a PlayStation exclusive quest, Felix Felicis Potion Recipe. The news comes from a long thread on Twitter in which the developer clarified which versions of the game are going to feature what content. This came in the wake of significant confusion over the complexity of the release.
“We're aware of the confusion that has sparked following the rollout of preorders and we acknowledge and apologize for the frustration caused in our community,” Avalanche noted. “The team hears you and we'd like to provide some clarity on questions that have come up.” The company went on to say that “for clarity, preorders of the PS4 and PS5 editions (Standard, Deluxe, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition) will come with the Felix Felicis Potion Recipe.” Avalanche added that “all PlayStation editions will come with the exclusive quest. No preorder is required to obtain it. More information around Sony exclusives coming soon.”

While the nature of the exclusive quest remains to be seen, fans of the franchise have been speculating about the matter, suggesting that some story related content could be in the works for owners of the relevant platform. The various differences between the PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and PC versions of the game could on the other hand be entirely trivial. Avalanche has not revealed any specifics.
