The Northern Regions of is a large region but does not have the most Merlin trial challenges. This zone is made up of the Forbidden Forest, the North Ford Bog, the North Hogwarts Region, and the Hogsmeade Valley. Of note, there are no Merlin trials within the Hogwarts Castle or within Hogsmeade Village.

Players should expect to need to use the following spells:

Revelio: Reveals hidden objects

Lumos: Used to lead moths

Flipendo: Used to flip dice-like cubes

Confringo: Used to light cauldrons and destroy standing stones

Wingardium Leviosa: Used to carry large and small stones to their respective platforms

Reparo: Used to repair broken statues

Depulso: Occasionally used to clear obstacles

There are 95 total Merlin Trials on the map of , starting with the first one in the quest, Trials of Merlin. 17 of them can be found in the Northern regions of the map.

Remember that activating each trial will require a Mallowsweet, of which the seeds can be purchased from The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade.

This trial is a platforming puzzle. Look to the left and jump up the stones quickly without missing one. Once you get to the top the trial is over.

This trial has five stones that must be destroyed with a strong spell from . Three are hidden behind vines. Confringo can destroy the vines and the stones. The rest are standing on the cliffs above. Destroy all five and the trial is over.

This trial has three symbol cubes that must be flipped using Flipendo. Stand in front of one side and use the spell until that symbol matches the one beneath it both directionally and with the same image. If the first side doesn’t seem to click, try a different side.
