Our October IGN First "cover story" is with High on Life, the upcoming Xbox and PC comedy first-person shooter from Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and his Squanch Games development studio. To kick things off, we sat down with executive producer Matty Studivan and chief design officer Erich Meyr and roamed around the previously unseen Zephyr Paradise biome.
We discussed Roiland's comedic influence and how there's so much funny dialogue in the game that not even Matty and Erich have heard it all, the unique talking guns and their abilities, and much more. Take a look in the video above, and check out some screenshots in the gallery below.
We'll have exclusive coverage of High on Life all month long through IGN First, including more about the weapons and enemies, an in-depth interview with Roiland about video games and Rick & Morty, and much more!
High on Life will be released on December 13 for PC and Xbox consoles, including day-one availability in Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. We got our first proper look at gameplay back in August at Gamescom – where it totally blew up.
Ryan McCaffrey is IGN's executive editor of previews and host of both IGN's weekly Xbox show, Podcast Unlocked, as well as our monthly(-ish) interview show, IGN Unfiltered. He's a North Jersey guy, so it's "Taylor ham," not "pork roll." Debate it with him on Twitter at @DMC_Ryan.
