Halo Infinite is currently in Season 2: Lone Wolves, which has introduced a bunch of new content to the first-person shooter. In addition to this latest seasonal content, the game occasionally hosts limited-time in-game events for players to participate in that are usually based around a particular theme. And it appears that 343 Industries has given fans a sneak peek at the latest event coming to the game, involving a particularly famous Grunt.
In a tweet from August 30, the official Halo Twitter account sent a message regarding a new event coming to Halo Infinite. According to the tweet from the developer, the new event is called the Yappening, and it appears named after the warlord Grunt called YayYap the Destroyer, who rebelled against the Banished. In addition to revealing the name of the event, the tweet noted that the festivities are expected to kick off on September 6. It is currently unknown how long the event will last.

While not much is known about the Yappening, 343 Industries included a comic in the announcement tweet, providing clues about what to expect. In the comic, a Grunt attempted to make its way into a UNSC-held base to sell merchandise. While no cosmetics have been confirmed for the event, a mohawk headpiece was seen on what appeared to be a soccer ball, suggesting that a new helmet could be coming to the game. In addition, the final slide of the comic said that players could “play weird games” and “get weird stuff.” Based on this information, it appears likely that the Yappening will include a new game mode along with some unusual-looking cosmetics for players to equip in Halo Infinite.
