Guild Wars 2 just unveiled its release schedule for the rest of 2022. Players can expect multiple updates to Guild Wars 2’s professions, several in-game and streaming events, and the final installment of the relaunch of Living World Season 1.
The first segment of the schedule has already gone live, with profession balance changes focused on competitiveGuild Wars 2 modes and the Jormag Legendary Weapon skin now available. Later in October, players can participate in the World vs. World Restructuring Beta event and the Shadow of the Mad King Halloween event to earn special rewards.
Guild Wars 2 is Doing Incredibly Well on Steam
In early November, Guild Wars 2 is holding a 24-hour charity stream with Extra Life for the sixth consecutive year. A few days later, it will release “Battle for Lion’s Arch,” the fifth and final chapter of the Living World Season 1 revamp. Late November will see another profession balance update, this time with a focus on all game modes, as well as the launch of the Primordus-themed Legendary Weapon skins and the Challenge Mode of the “Battle for Lion’s Arch” strike mission: Old Lion’s Court. And of course, December will bring the Wintersday Christmas event back to Guild Wars 2.
Living World Season 1 was Guild Wars 2’s first foray into major live service content updates after its launch 10 years ago. However, the structuring of the updates meant the content was made unavailable after new patches replaced them. While an interesting formula at the time, its exclusionary nature has led Guild Wars 2 to re-release the lost chapter of its history for all to play in an episodic manner. “Battle for Lion’s Arch” is the fifth and final installment of this re-release.
