Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has had a lot of buzz surrounding it. Since Knives Out 2 wrapped filming nearly one year ago, the project has been eyeing a December 2022 release date on Netflix. Though none of the original cast is returning save Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc, the film will follow the theme set down by its predecessor of rich people behaving badly. The plot involves a tech billionaire (Edward Norton) inviting his friends for a getaway on a private Greek island. When someone turns up murdered, however, it's up to Benoit Blanc to crack the case.
Netflix Sets Release Date for Knives Out Sequel Glass Onion
Director Johnson took to Twitter to announce that Glass Onion would be hitting theaters prior to its December Netflix release. Thanking theater chains such as AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and more, Johnson excitedly announced that Knives Out 2 would be screening for one week around Thanksgiving as a theatrical sneak preview event. In a follow-up tweet, the director also explained that this is the first instance of a Netflix film being screened in all of these locations, and iterated that this was" a very big deal." He further clarified that tickets go on sale starting Monday, October 10.
