Nintendo has treated Kirby fans to a Valentine-themed treat today with the release of its newest entry to the It’s Kirby Time read-along series, A Hug from Kirby. In this 6-minute narrated video, we see Kirby explore the idea of love with the help of his friend Adeleine and all the classic characters from the world of Kirby, and with it comes an adorable and cutesy tale befitting the character.

The start of the story sees Kirby spending time with his friend Adeleine who has fallen in love, which gets Kirby thinking about what exactly love is. After receiving a hug and an answer from Adeleine, Kirby is determined to learn all he can about love and sets off to find out everything he can about the emotion. He then meets his friends Waddle Dee, King Dedede, Chilly, and Marx and gives them all a big hug, with each person he finds offering some new insight into the feeling. Given it’s a Kirby story, it’s a given it will be adorable and cheerful. Still, this latest video is painfully cute and in tune with the character and its audience.

The video is part of a series of read-along’s featuring Kirby and his friends, which were originally released as physical picture books in Japan as part of the 30th-anniversary celebrations and the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
