The world was rocked on September 8 when it was announced that Queen Elizabeth II had died. The day started with news of her health failing, before she eventually passed away hours later. Many companies switched to more somber operations, and now, we know of one gaming event that has been rescheduled likely due to this timing — the Forza Monthly livestream.
Playground Games announced yesterday that the Forza Monthly livestream “has been rescheduled.” It did not provide a new date for the event, but asks that fans watch the official Twitter account for updates.
Playground Games is a UK-based company, so the fact that it has made this decision is not at all a surprise. True, Forza Horizon is the furthest thing away from anything to do with the royal family. But seeing that so much of its team is there in the UK, it’s only natural that the call was made to quickly reschedule the livestream.
Regular TV broadcasts in the UK have even been interrupted, as is standard protocol when a member of the royal family dies. However, seeing that this is the death of the queen, the interruption is even more profound.

That said, the lack of mentioning a new date also coincides with the ongoing mode the UK is in. There is a 12-day mourning period following the death of the monarch. Two of those days in the period are considered “bank holidays,” which closes business like Playground Games. It’s expected the team will likely try to run livestream again much later in the month, if not in early October.
Whenever the next Forza Monthly does roll around, it will feature a look at new content coming to Forza Horizon
