NPC questlines make up a big part of Elden Ring’s story, often leading to unique and otherwise unobtainable items. With the latest patch 1.03, players can track the locations of many NPCs on their map, however, FromSoftware’s signature design continues to obscure the purpose of these NPCs and their related quests.

One such obtuse NPC is called Latenna, and can be found at the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes, resting on the ground beside the eponymous wolf. Speaking about a mysterious medallion, players may wonder how to obtain the item, but are offered no obvious solution. This guide will help players complete Latenna’s quest on their journey to reclaim the shattered shards of the Elden Ring.

In order to reach Latenna, players must first find the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes, one of the earlier areas in the game. To get here, they need to go through the Lakeside Crystal Cave, found on the cliffs just northwest of the ‘Liurnia Lake Shore’ Site of Grace, west-southwest of Laskyar Ruins, and south of the ‘Scenic Isle’ Site of Grace.

Dropping down onto the dimly lit ledges in the central pit and fighting their way through Demi-Human mobs, players will eventually face the Bloodhound Knight and reveal a passage leading out to the Shack and Latenna.

After resting at the Site of Grace here, players must venture to a nearby location to meet a character called Albus and continue Latenna’s questline.

Albus can be found in the Village of the Albinaurics in the swamplands to the northeast of the Shack. The village sits below a plateau only reachable through Ranni the Witch’s questline. Luckily, players do not have to complete any quests to reach the Village.
