Fans worried that the upcoming Elden Ring might be delayed again thanks to a recent hack on FromSoftware's servers can breathe easier as the developer has revealed the game will launch on February 25th with the necessary security measures. The new game from the creators of Dark Souls and Bloodborne promises the next game is the largest adventure yet. The game's lore and world were crafted by Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin, and while many are excited to explore and learn about Elden Ring's lore, others are more excited to play the game with up to three friends in the game's enhanced multiplayer.
After Elden Ring's closed network test last November, the select few who were lucky enough to try the demo got a good idea of how the anticipated title's multiplayer will function. Much like previous games developed by FromSoftware, players can lay a summon sign on nearly any part of the game's map, allowing friends to teleport into each other's worlds. A new feature in Elden Ring allows players to create summoning pools, which should allow players to easily summon friends to create a four-person team to conquer Elden Ring's challenges. Summoning friends also raises the chances that an enemy player could be summoned to invade a player's world in the game's high risk/high reward multiplayer format. However, a recent exploit has caused the servers of the first three Dark Souls games to be taken offline to prevent hackers from accessing players' PCs, causing many to fear if Elden Ring's similar multiplayer will suffer from the same issue.
