Elden Ring gifts players with a spectral steed, Torrent. He's competing with a large cast of good boys in FromSoftware's newest game, but he still stands out as a fan favourite. If you've got it in your heart to briefly kill him, he can be reborn anew, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, wings and all.
Well, sort of. He doesn't actually get wings, but he will be glitched and able to fly. Well, sort of. He'll gallop in the air, and that's basically flying. As first spotted by GamesRadar, this newly discovered glitch could be used to break the already lightning-fast 25 minute speedruns wide open.

The glitch is surprisingly easy to perform, although at the moment there are only two known spots where it can be pulled off: just outside Volcano Manor on Mt Gelmir, and the northwest ledge of the Bestial Sanctum in northern Greyroll's Dragonbarrow.
To do the glitch, you have to ride up a slope that has a death plane just below it. Unlike regular fall damage, these kill you as soon as you touch them, no matter how little you fall. Dismount Torrent and send him into the kill plane below. It's heartbreaking, I know, but he'll be back.
Next, walk over to a ledge and recall Torrent. He won't spawn, but a Crimson Flask charge will get used up. Call him again and you'll hop on and up, up, and away! If you did the glitch correctly, that is. This will allow you to fly over The Lands Between, avoiding all the nasty beasties below, like Caelid's demonic T-Rex dogs.
This glitch has only just been uncovered, so chances ar there are loads more spots around the map that will make it a useful strategy for speedrunners and players who just want a bit of a break from the terrors on the
