Bandai Namco has reached a new sales milestone with the popular action RPG, Elden Ring. As the smash hit game approaches its first anniversary, the publisher has announced it has now tipped over 20 million units worldwide.
This figure includes physical shipments and digital sales across all platforms. Elden Ring set off at a rapid pace upon launch, easily becoming FromSoftware's fastest selling game, and it's now quite comfortably its best-selling game, too. A large percentage of the 20 million figure was reached fairly quickly; the game sold 16.6 million copies in its first four months.
The game has received multiple post-launch updates, most notably adding new multiplayer arenas with distinct rules. Fans are hoping for some more substantial DLC soon, though nothing has been officially announced as yet.

One of the best games I've ever played. Can't wait for DLC. Miyazaki is a genius.
Well deserved! It opened up a new world of gaming for me. After many years Returnal and ER made me see challenging games can actually be a lot of fun.
