Another Elden Ring speedrunner has managed to set a world record, finishing the brutally difficult FromSoftware game in just over 12.5 minutes. While Elden Ring's lore and world are a major draw of the game for many, there are others who focus primarily on efficiency and performance, attempting to beat the game in the smallest amount of time possible.
Elden Ring is the biggest game that FromSoftware has ever developed-- perhaps one of the biggest games in general. The expansive, complex, and diverse world of The Lands Between can be difficult for players to navigate, especially when they stumble into areas that may be too difficult for them. The various hostile NPCs of this land follow in the long tradition of challenging and relentless FromSoftware enemies. Despite its inhospitable geography and menacing foes, however, plenty of gamers have managed to beat the game multiple times, with dedicated speedrunners beating Elden Ring in less than an hour by mastering the game's systems and uncovering certain exploits.

It seems that the speedrunning world record for Elden Ring cannot remain static for too long; a video shared by content creator Mitchriz (via GameSpot) shows him finishing an any-percent run of the game in 12 minutes and 32 seconds, beating the previous record of 14 minutes and 8 seconds. Mitchriz accomplished this through several glitches and skips in the Limgrave, Liurnia, and Ashen Capital regions, delivering him to the end credits of the game at a blisteringly quick pace. This speedrun was performed on the PC version of the game.
