Players in Elden Ring have known for a while that there are sometimes hidden walls in the game that lead to new areas. However, a new discovery takes this to an absurd length. A player has discovered a wall in Volcano Manor that only disappears when you hit it 50 times.
Over on Reddit, user teristam came across a wall seemingly inconspicuous wall in Volcano Manor. However, he soon found out that if the wall is hit 50 times, then the wall goes away, revealing a room. This room belongs to Rya and Knight Bernhal, which can be easily accessed normally just by finding its regular entrance.

Polygon confirmed that the walls in Volcano Manor don't behave like the other walls in the game that can be broken. There's usually a sound cue that plays whenever such wall breaks, but in the case of Volcano Manor, it didn't activate.
Additionally, these walls will respawn if the players decide to rest at a Site of Grace. The reason for this particular wall is unknown, but it could have been placed there to separate it from the hallway leading up, as it contains monsters and combat is prohibited in the room itself.
This new discovery implies that there could be other areas in the game with such walls, in addition to the traditional illusory wall mechanic already in play. So now players will scatter throughout the Lands Between again to see if that's indeed the case.
FromSoftware released a new patch yesterday for Elden Ring that fixed some issues with the game, added quest phases, and dropped a new NPC. It also nerfed and buffed certain weapons and abilities as well.
