When it was announced earlier in the year that E3 2022 would not be taking place either physically or digitally, many gaming fans were anxious that the month of June would go by without any announcements for upcoming games and new reveals. However, it seems that many gaming companies are now making their own shows to compensate for a lack of E3. There are plenty more events to look forward to in June as well, such as the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. Perhaps the most anticipated event of all could be Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest. Keighley is most known for putting together the annual Game Awards, and it seems 2022 marks another year when he will be putting together both a Winter and Summer games event. As with The Game Awards, fans tuning in to the Summer Game Fest can expect new reveals, updates on games in development, and some special guests to draw in crowds who aren't usually attracted to video game events.

The Rock confirmed his involvement via Twitter, where he said he «appreciate[s] you guys inviting me to swoop in!»
With his reference to «swooping,» it is more than likely the Rock will discuss his upcoming role of Black Adam
