BioWare announced Dragon Age 4 back in 2018, and one insider claims that the role-playing game may finally release in late 2023. The fourth installment in BioWare's fantasy series will bring players to the Tevinter Imperium and see the return of the Dread Wolf Solas. An estimated 2023 release date for Dragon Age 4was reported last year, and new rumors narrow that window further.
Dragon Age 4, a highly-anticipated follow-up to 2014's Dragon Age: Inquisiton, has experienced a long and turbulent development. The game was first conceived as a smaller narrative-driven game, but ongoing struggles with other BioWare games like Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda eventually led to an overhaul of the project. Publisher Electronic Arts requested that Dragon Age 4 be made into an online live service title with potential for ongoing monetization, which led many veteran developers to leave the studio. While the game was originally announced with this multiplayer element present, backlash from both fans and developers led to BioWare making Dragon Age 4 a single-player experience devoid of live service or multiplayer elements.

Grubb claims that the next installment in BioWare's epic fantasy saga is "in very good shape," with the game maintaining a firm development schedule. However, Grubb also reveals that Dragon Age 4 is still at least 18 months away from being ready for release, which makes a late 2023 launch likely.
