A fire broke out on March 15 on the set of Disney's live-action remake of Snow White. The upcoming remake is set to star Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) in the titular role and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) as the Evil Queen. Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) is set to direct from a screenplay co-written by Greta Gerwig (Frances Ha, Lady Bird).
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will follow the classic tale of Snow White and her quest for true love, helped along the way by seven dwarfs and a huntsman. The original 1937 film remains an icon of animation and pop culture, being parodied and remade frequently, with Snow White remaining a staple walk-around character at Disney Parks. The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfsremake has also come under some criticism from Peter Dinklage and other members of the dwarfism community for reinforcing stereotypes about people with dwarfism.

According to Variety, the fire broke out on a Snow White set that was being constructed, with a tree catching alight and starting a large blaze, with witnesses reporting billowing black smoke around the area. No filming was underway, and no cast members were on set at the time. Fire services arrived and put out the blaze, with no injuries or casualties reported.
The fire took place at Pinewood Studios on the Richard Attenborough stage in the United Kingdom. The origin of the fire is unknown, with the rumor being that a piece of the set caught fire and spread quickly due to the high volume of wood and trees used to construct the set. Zegler was in London at the time of the fire to attend the BAFTAS and the Critics Choice Awards but wasn't anywhere near the event.
