Activision is granting early campaign access to those who pre-order the digital version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
According to the publisher, campaign early access will go live for digital pre-orders on October 20 – more than a week ahead of the game’s general release on October 28.
“This grants you up to a week to complete the incredible multimission, single-player, globe-trotting operation before the full game launches on October 28,” it said.
“This Campaign features missions in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and is set to be an incredible experience on numerous levels: offshore sieges with underwater combat, all-out explosive assaults from 30,000 feet above enemy strongholds, and high-stakes, low-profile stealth missions in both plain sight and under the cover of darkness.”
The promotion applies to pre-orders on the Xbox and PlayStation digital stores, as well as Battle.net and Steam on PC.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta will be available to PlayStation owners first, Activision has confirmed. Modern Warfare 2 is released on October 28, but beta access will be available a month before this.
There will be an Open Beta which will be available to all players on all formats, while those who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 getting an extra period of early access.
Activision is set to hold a digital event on September 15 where it will reveal “more details regarding Modern Warfare II, information on the next Call of Duty: Warzone, and more on the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone”.
