You’ll encounter many cute creatures in Digimon Survive, and one of the cutest is Gatomon, a Digimon that looks a lot like an average domestic cat. Gatomon is one of the series’ most iconic characters, and they have a fun personality that shows through in the dialogue you’ll encounter whilst trying to recruit them.

Gatomon is also a useful Digimon to add to your team, as they can evolve into a range of powerful Digimon later in the game, such as MagnaAngemon and Angewomon. They can be found in Part 4 of the game, shortly after the new Free Battle Area in the Park Area becomes accessible.
To get Gatomon through evolution, you’ll first need to get yourself a Patamon. This orange blob with wings can be found as early as Part 3 of the game in the free battle areas. You can recruit Patamon using the talk function. Answer their questions to satiate their curious personality, and they’ll soon join your team.
Once you’ve gotten yourself a Patamon, you can evolve them into a Gatomon using a Mature Enlightenment Slab. These slabs for evolution can be obtained throughout the world using your phone’s camera, through the main story, or in item boxes during battles.
If you’re not looking to evolve a Digimon, you’ll instead need to recruit a Gatomon directly from a Free Battle Area. Gatomon first appears in Free Battle Areas from Part 4 of the story. You’ll be able to find Gatomon in the Free Battle Area of the Park Area, along with a variety of other Digimon.
Gatomon has a relatively low spawn rate in this area, so you may have to do a few Free Battles before finding one. You can continually do Free Battles or return to the Free Battle Area after story events to ‘refresh’ the Digimon
