The latest Diablo Immortal patch notes are here for the July 20 Diablo Immortal update, which adds a class change feature along with a new Helliquary boss, a hoard of new legendaries with a focus on DoT effects, and the first way for players of the RPG game to earn the elusive eternal legendary crests without spending real money.
Players can now change their character class once per week, at no cost, from level 35 onwards. When doing so, you will be granted a set of placeholder gear, and there is also a one-time option to undo the change should you realise that you’ve made a terrible mistake. Blizzard says “there are no current plans to allow players to purchase the ability to change classes more frequently.”
A new Helliquary boss has entered the fray – the rather toothy Gorgothra the Claimer. In case the name hasn’t clued you in, Gorgothra is a gorgon-like foe with “petrification rays, bilious venom, and serpentine strikes.” Gorgothra arrives on August 2, and the update post says that her power level dwarfs that of previous Helliquary bosses Lassal and Vitaath, which will no doubt worry some players who still aren’t sure when they are going to be ready to fight Vitaath, the Helliquary’s second boss.
One change which will make free-to-play players happy is the ability to earn eternal legendary crests in-game. These special crests cause tradable legendary gems to drop, which can then be sold on the game’s marketplace. There are two ways to earn them: the first is completing a weekly Warband Raid will allow players to purchase one for 1600 platinum from the crest merchant in Westmarch.
