Another, much meatier, Diablo 4 leak involves over 40 minutes of footage from the private alpha leak online.
You’re no doubt already familiar with the massive Grand Theft Auto 6 leak that took place over the weekend. While the situation is still ongoing, it’s not the only game to have suffered a rather sizeable leak recently.
In the wake of the GTA 6 news, footage from an early build of Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4 has made its way online. Although it’s nowhere near as significant as the GTA 6 one, it’s still over 40 minutes of gameplay, showing off the combat and menus.
Two videos – one lasting roughly five minutes and another that’s about 38 minutes – were anonymously uploaded with zero context for where they came from.
However, it’s speculated that the footage is taken from a private alpha test restricted to just friends and family of Blizzard employees. Most likely the same one that saw a much smaller leak last month.
People can be heard talking over the footage (albeit with their voices distorted), but their conversation suggests they aren’t the ones playing and are instead watching someone else stream it.
It’s not clear whether they actually know the person playing, since one of them says ‘Are you watching Skye right now? … Watch Skye right now.’ Another, however, asks who the player is and is told ‘I don’t know but I’ve been watching for a while.’
Whatever the case, this leak isn’t anywhere near as malicious as the GTA 6 one, which was the result of a hack. What’s more, the individual responsible has said they’re looking to strike a deal with Rockstar Games, no doubt hoping to make some money out of the whole thing.
As for the Diablo 4 leak, a link to it was shared by Reddit user iV1rus0, who appears to have only
