After the delay of Destiny 2's Witch Queen expansion to February of this year, Bungie announced that Season of the Lost would last for around six months, setting a new score for the longest Season in the game's history. While many players were not thrilled at the idea of having to play the same meta for six whole months, the 30th Anniversary Pack did shake things up in a way that made the wait less insufferable and rather enjoyable instead. As customary for Destiny 2's Seasons, players expected a unique story mission to be released for Season of the Lost sooner rather than later.
However, the Exorcism mission, in which Guardians are tasked with assisting and defending Queen Mara Sov while she performs the ritual to sever the connection between Savathun and her Worm, launched just today — a week before The Witch Queen. The timing was weird enough, considering that the Season went on for six months, but the issue is that a few Destiny 2 players won't be able to experience it with such a short span of time between its release and the expansion's launch.

And yet, the main issue seems to be that the Exorcism mission is currently bugged, instead, and many of those who play through its entirety are actually not getting quest advancement from it. The bug seems to be caused by players running ahead into the mission through means like the Eager Edge perk, skipping important bits of dialogue or in-game events as a result. Another problem is likely tied to some players skipping the final cutscene of the Exorcism mission, which skips it for the entire team even if every other Guardian watches it on their screen.
