Destiny 2’s servers have been down for more half a day as Bungie tries to fix a major issue with progress tracking.
The studio took the servers down at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm GMT on Tuesday to “investigate an ongoing issue causing certain Triumphs, Seals, and Catalysts to lose progress for players”.
At the time of writing, some 16 hours later, the game remains offline.
Bungie estimated earlier that a fix will be deployed at around 3-4am PT / 6-7am ET / 11am-noon GMT, but notes that this is subject to change.
“We are testing a fix,” the studio tweeted on Tuesday night. “Once testing is complete, we will deploy and verify the fix before bringing Destiny 2 back online.
“We will also be rolling back all player accounts to their state as of 8.20 AM PST, prior to Hotfix 6.3.0.5 going live.”
Bungie then provided three further Twitter updates stating that “investigations and tests” to resolve the issue were still ongoing.
In its latest tweet, at 7.30pm PT / 10.30pm ET / 3.30am GMT, it wrote: “Our investigation and testing continues. To set expectations, this issue will not be resolved tonight.
“We are estimating a timeline of 3-4 AM PST tomorrow, January 25, for our fix to get deployed. Timeline subject to change. More info will be provided once available.”
