EA Motive has revealed the release date and first in-game footage of the Dead Space remake in its most recent developer live stream, as the game is now confirmed to launch on January 27, 2023. Creative director Roman Campos-Oriola, senior producer Philippe Ducharme, and art director Mike Yazijian revealed four in-depth videos of the game's art design, explaining the reasoning behind decisions made to keep the Dead Space remake feel authentic. It's worth noting that everything shown is currently in pre-alpha.
While most of the live stream focused on the technical side of the game, we did get a further look at certain rooms in the USG Ishimura and a more detailed description of how certain visual effects will interact with the environment. The developers make it very clear that they are attempting to make the Ishimura feel like a lived-in place, trying to make the game as authentic and realistic as possible.

One quite interesting tidbit is that in an attempt to make the game as authentic as possible for returning fans, a lot of the game's assets are built from the ground up in the Frostbite engine, but are based on assets from the original game. We also got a look at Isaac's new suit in some detailed concept art, which has been redesigned with the game's lore in mind.
The detail doesn't end there either. EA Motive has been incredibly open during the development of the Dead Space remake, adjusting their work after hearing fan feedback. For example, the devs changed the sounds that the Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle make after fans felt they sounded a little different from the original game during an audio developer live stream earlier this year.
