Netflix has released the first trailer for Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, a biographical crime drama co-created by Ryan Murphy (American Horror Stories, Glee) and frequent collaborator Ian Brennan (The Politician). The limited series comes to Netflix on September 21.
As the title suggests, the series follows the murders of infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer--between 1978 and 1991, Dahmer killed 17 people, many of them were young gay men of color. Despite Dahmer's name being in the title twice, the show will, as a synopsis describes, «expose these unconscionable crimes, centered around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America's most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.»
In the show's first trailer, which you can watch above, Evan Peters (Quicksilver in the X-Men and MCU films) can be seen menacingly portraying the serial killer as he endures probing questions from his neighbor, asking about the rancid meat he's been throwing away. In addition to Peters, the series ensemble includes Molly Ringwald, Richard Jenkins, Michael Learned, and Penelope Ann Miller.
A second trailer for the show is expected to be released on September 20. In the meantime, you can check out our full overview of what's coming to Netflix this month over here.
