Valve's perennially popular team shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive continues to inspire modders as a new one has been stoking interest.
Created by a team of modders, the 'CSGO-Kart' mod was made available for download yesterday via Steam (as spotted by NME). It is described as a "vehicular capture the flag gameplay mode" for CS:GO and looks somewhat like Rocket League except the players can fire actual rockets at each other.

In the game mode, a red and blue team make their way around the map to get to the opponent's team base and capture the flag. You can check out what it looks like in the video below:
The mod's creators Dieter Stassen and Luke Millanta go by the name Two Random Dudes (via Dot Esports). "Instead of playing as soldiers/humans you instead take the form of a rocket-firing go-kart," Millanta told Dot Esports. "From here each team battles it out to capture the other team's flag and return it to their base".
Millanta further explained that throughout the game mode's map there are power-ups such as speed boosters, ammo (rockets), teleporters, and health kits/boosters. Aside from the rockets, players can also slam their go-karts by pressing the jump key while mid-air which is in fact key as slamming is required to steal the flag and to register its capture back at home base.
The mod has been well received, generating 1,792 ratings at the time of writing and netting the game mode five stars. Those interested in the mod can find it on its Steam page here.
