Oh hey, it’s a weird-looking Contra game! That’s kind of the norm with Konami’s current state, but the fact that WayForward was announced as a collaborator in today’s Nintendo Direct reveal gives me hope.

Anyway, Nintendo gave us a look at Contra: Operation Galuga, with a ton of details: it’s a “thorough reimagining of the classic run-‘n’-gun action game from the ’80s, featuring modern graphics and sound, new stages, new enemies and bosses, new play mechanics, an updated weapons system.”

Two player co-op for story mode and four player co-op for arcade mode are confirmed. Please be good!
