Check full list of 54 Chinese apps banned in India; Garena Free Fire, Isoland 2 to Tencent Xriver
The Union home ministry has once again banned as many as 54 Chinese apps that are believed to pose a threat to India's security. They have been accused of collecting data that can cause national security problems. The Information Technology ministry has issued the full list of Chinese apps banned in India that will not be allowed to be used here anymore. Why exactly were these Chinese apps banned in India? The IT ministry said in its official statement, “These 54 apps allegedly obtain various critical permissions and collect sensitive user data. These collected real-time data are being misused and transmitted to servers located in hostile countries.” The IT ministry has shared that some of these banned Chinese apps are carrying out espionage and surveillance activities via camera/mic, access fine locations via GPS and do malicious network activity similar to previously blocked apps. Earlier, the center had banned 267 applications over security threat concerns in the year 2020. You can check the full list of 54 Chinese apps banned in India below:
