Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta opens to XBox and PC, adds more maps and game modes

The second weekend of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta is here and with it comes wider access to gamers as well as more game modes and maps to test out. After a successful but concise first weekend of the beta testing phase of the upcoming Call of Duty game, publisher Infinity Ward has announced that the game will now be opened to a wider gamer base. This means instead of just being limited to PlayStation users, the beta version of the game will now also be available to play for XBox and PC gamers. Read on to know everything new that's coming out on the second weekend of the game's beta release.

The information was revealed by the official Twitter handle of Call of Duty. Announcing it opening for everyone, the tweet said, “The #MWII Beta opens TOMORROW for EVERYONE”. But that was just one half of the surprise. To the pleasant surprise of players, Infinity Ward has increased the game modes to seven and maps to six!

These game modes now include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Prisoner Rescue, Knockout, Search & Destroy, Invasion and 3rd Person Moshpit.

For the unaware, in Deathmatch, a group of players are separated into two teams. The objective is to kill players on the opposing team. The first team to reach the score limit, or has the most points when the timer runs out. In Domination, the objective is to gather as many points by taking areas. Prisoner Rescue is an interesting mode where one team tries to protect hostages while the other tries to capture them. Knockout is a new game mode where two teams of six battle over the control over a package. Search and Destroy requires you to either destroy the objective using a bomb or to kill all enemy players. Invasion is a massive 20 vs 20 match with AI combatants and you
