Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer Games are the three development teams that produce a Call of Duty title on a three year cycle. However, Black Ops Cold War released a year earlier than expected, and Vanguard followed. Therefore, most expect Infinity Ward to be developing Call of Duty 2022. Previous leaks have pointed towards the upcoming title being named Modern Warfare 2, a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019. Thanks to a new leak, even more details have emerged about the development team for this potential Modern Warfare 2.
Prominent Call of Duty leaker RalphsValve shared some information about Modern Warfare 2’s development on their Twitter. The leak claims that 11 studios will be working on the game. As Infinity Ward is expected to be the lead developer, its studios in Texas, Los Angeles, and Poland will reportedly be involved. Alongside them is Toys for Bob, Demonware, Raven Software, High Moon Studios, Beenox, Activision, and Sledgehammer Games. Later on, the leaker returned to the post to inform fans that Treyarch may also be helping out, too.
With such an extraordinary amount of collaboration between developers, fans will be hoping this means Modern Warfare 2 won’t be similar to the current state of Vanguard. Since launch, Vanguard has struggled with various bugs and glitches. Activision recently shared a statement which promises to fix Vanguard, Warzone Pacific, and Modern Warfare 2019. Hopefully, cooperation between 11 studios will result in the release of a polished game.
