A piece of key art from a "Forty Thieves" DLC quest for Assassin's Creed Mirage has leaked on the Ubisoft Store, giving us our first official look at the game.
Although Ubisoft has yet to officially announce the future of Assassin's Creed, it's been pretty widely reported that the next game in the series is Assassin's Creed Mirage, once codenamed Rift, a stand-alone adventure that stars Valhalla's Basim and takes place in Baghdad. More details about the game have leaked over the past few days, including a potential release window of Spring 2023, but a new leak from Ubisoft itself has all but confirmed the game.

As spotted by Twitter user ScriptLeaksR6, the Ubisoft store leaked key art for the "Forty Thieves" DLC quest. One version of the image confirms the game's title as "Assassin's Creed Mirage", as well as showing that the art is for a DLC quest based on Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and not the main key art for the game.
The image shows an Assassin, presumably Basim, wielding a hidden blade and a sword while standing outside of a cave. In front of him is a shadow of a man with a large sword, which is likely Ali Baba, the leader of the forty thieves. Assassin's Creed fans were quick to point out that this is the first time in a while that the series has featured a hooded assassin front and centre, which might indicate that the rumours of a more traditional Assassin's Creed game were true.
